Would it be possible to remake this into the current vid format? Ruffle puts the movie in the corner.

BoyPorcelain responds:

i actually have been considering redoing this ngl, i might do it sometime halfway into the year and expand on it too

Funny characters, some fresh jokes.
I don't get the loud noises: is this some strange fad or some sound effects came out wrong so you just decided to roll with it, but it just makes me lower the volume so that some dialogues are pretty silent.

Overall enjoyable mainly through animation, if listened really quiet.

HisCoconutGun responds:

I assure you my friend, it was all intentional
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Good animation, but gen z "loud" humour

0ffenT responds:

It gets views on youtube unfortunately

Really nice animation, but the sound quality could have been better.

DaThugWizard responds:

Disagree. the sound quality adds to its charm.

Kinda what the show was for the 1st 2 episodes. At least they had more animation and gimmicks that this short movie. I mean, come on, nicely drawn faces and different postures, but they definitely had more going on. And the intro was pretty dope too.

All in all, small rant with small knowledge with with minimum animation would give u 3/5, but that screeching at the end - seriously not needed.

zachdewd responds:

It was, I needed to make it clear that the holocaust is nothing to joke about

Good animation and sound (for most part, obviously aside from pieces that was supposed to stand out with their "low res" shenanigans), but all of it was lacking a logical plot. As in, what gives? More confused after watching this than any other feeling, and not talking about the artsy kind of confusion.

Liked the main character though.

Edit:
Rised score by +1 cause u left "loud voice" notification. Might be a nice idea to create your own original disclaimer page with that info (similar to splash screen), not even writing it down, just an icon/animation of a really loud speaker, or maybe distressed person in heaphones (just my idea). BTW. to avoid distress, the score is basically for content meaning, but if you feel this will go through to your friend, please treat it as a solid 4.5. Good fortune to you and him.

SmoothE responds:

thank you for the response!! very glad to have gotten a more formal critique based one as i was kind of hoping for some feedback, so thank you!! gonna respond to a bit of this though for the hell of it :D

the logical plot bit was entirely on purpose, there was no script or plan while making this, i just kind of said 'okay now what can happen here?' and rolled with it. i would've loved to make some actual consistent and logical plot and whatnot but i feel like it wouldn't have fit in some one off birthday gift. the confusion aspect was also intended, as it was supposed to be chaotic to the point of little understanding, especially since most of the jokes were just kind of left in because the people i was talking to while making it just kind of asked me to throw it in (and i was ridiculously tired lol, in fact still tired while writing this thing!)

also yeah the main characters pretty cool, gurchins rad :D

and i totally would've put a disclaimer at the beginning but i was running out of time quick and couldn't really figure out WHERE to put it, i tried my best to make it at least apparent that it was gonna be loud and purposefully low quality at times but i didn't really make the point all too well haha.

and i'll be treating it as a 4.5 because he seemed to enjoy it quite a bit, thank you dread and good fortune to you as well! :D

Very neat. Question: what's the song version? I'm trying to find it on the net and either it's too slow, or too fast. Looking for that specific one where they pause in the middle, or at lest this exact speed and feeling at least.

EDIT: Thx Simon444, confirmed at 1:40, +1

Gypsy in my Mind - Never Dull tiktok (sped up)

Liked the whole idea of chicken fight, classic Peter Griffin.
-1 star for mildly awful sound effect at the end - someone please end this "fashion"

KOLANI responds:

hehe funny fart sound ~

Joke aside, liked the pixelated art.
Below low quality of sound effect, and for some reason I believe it's the centerpiece of this movie - would really love people to stop thinking screaming in movies is in any way a good comedic trick.

Don't care about misogyny or whatever.

Ant responds:

i went to your house last night to spook you but i think i smelt decomposing human bodies in the backyard so i left
the police are on their way

The art that is remembered through ages is the art that speaks volumes of those ages.
As much as I don't want 21st century to be remembered as the fallings of democracy and its futility against countries that go in with armed offensive, this really brings in close the late moments happening to our neighbours.

The medium used here pronounces loss. Good use of colours and scenes as they bring about thoughts of war and aftermath of violence.
It is clearly made not as a movie, but a show of painting, a sliding show of a breakdown.

I thought every scene was a bit too long, but that might be my impatience.

I too hope this war ends, as much as I want people to get along, we might be the next target.
